¡ÈMapping Sound Installation¡É is an art project, in which the space of YCAM (both studio space and public space) is regarded as a place for installing sound-art, and the site-specific and public-oriented sound designs are mapped spatially. At each mapping spot, aesthetic meaning and social function of the three-dimensional spatial extent is unconventionally designed through sound-art so that visitors and users can perceive and actually go through new experiences. In this project, both artists and visitors pursue the entire building as a range of living and moving spaces, while the horizontally circulatory feature of the YCAM architecture is highlighted, and delicate linkage between public art and human senses is activated.

*Note: ¡Èdialogue between science and art¡É series:
In this series of events, scientific, analytical results and artistic expressions are combined through the most advanced technologies to produce a work that visitors can enjoy experiencing. The series was launched in 2004, and this is its third event.

The exhibition is composed of two main programs described below.

  • Keiichiro Shibuya + Takashi Ikegami ¡Èfilmachine¡É ¡Êa new sound installation ¡Ë
  • YCAM Inter-University Consortium
