Born in 1976 in Singapore.

Clarence studied manufacturing engineering at Nanyang Polytechnics. He later went on to study design communication, which involves the study of advertisement and graphic design, at Lasalle College of Arts.

In 2000, while working as a graphic designer, Clarence began to work as a stage staff and stage manager. From 2004, he worked in Esplanade - Theaters on the Bay, assisting and managing performances.

In 2009, Clarence joined YCAM as an intern under The Japan Foundation's "Future Leaders Program", a part of the JENESYS program run by the Japanese government, to research further into the production process in both performance art and media art. He was impressed that most of the works produced at YCAM are not solely driven to increase profit or viewership but more to offer education and create new conversations.

Clarence joined YCAM in September 2009 as a production manager for all the YCAM-curated exhibitions and shows. He takes account of restructuring the production environment within the Center's ecosystem to gain momentum in the creation and R&D, hoping one day the Center will be one of the world's leading media art centre anticipated by professionals all over the world.
