In contrast to "30 x 30" an open-air dance piece performed in a city every day, "1 x 60" is a new 60-minute piece presented in a theater, which challenges the public to question the meaning of what dancers and audiences share─the limited "time" and the "space" of a theater that is considered most appropriate equipped with seats and lighting.

Utilizing media and production systems that are strong points of YCAM, Takao Minami collaborates with Fortier to produce the new work. Takao Minami, who presented moving images on the theme of "sheep" at the YCAM opening in 2003, and participated in "Rock the future" exhibition in Liverpool, U.K. in 2005, is a member of "Ressentiment" and has been actively working at home and abroad as a media artist. After the world premiere at YCAM, this work produced in Yamaguchi is scheduled to tour North America and Europe, including a dance festival in Canada.

Experienced choreographer who has played a prominent role throughout the dance history in Quebec, Canada and a young Japanese artist work together for a dance piece, making free use of media interacting with the body movements.
