The LabACT project, focusing on the applicability and connectability of technologies – information, communication and media technology in particular – that define the present state of media art, introduces exhibition styles from viewpoints as broad as medical care, welfare, local industry, and other areas outside the fields of art, science and engineering. Drawing on the YCAM staff’s experience creating and presenting works in collaboration with artists, LabACT explores creative applications of the respective technology featured in each series, while at once developing educational contents designed to make these technologies accessible to a broader audience.
